South African filmmaker, Dan Mace, has been signed on as Chief Creative Officer for the Beast Philanthropy YouTube channel.

Mace is a multiple award-winning film director, YouTuber, and the creator of The BRU Show for Warner Bros. Discovery. His latest endeavour is a collaboration with American YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast.

MrBeast is currently ranked as the World's Most Followed Person on YouTube, with over 127 million subscribers and 208 million subscribers across all of his channels on the platform. According to Forbes, the 24-year-old earned $54 million in 2021, including $32 million from ads across his dozen-plus channels and $9 million from sponsored content. His earnings, already the highest of any social media creator, are set to double in 2023 to as much as $110 million.

While MrBeast is known for his elaborate stunts and giveaways in his videos, he also uses his platform for good in the form of his philanthropy channel, which was created in September 2020.

The Beast Philanthropy channel's description reads: "100% of the profits from my ad revenue, merch sales, and sponsorships will go towards making the world a better place!"

In a video shared on his YouTube channel on Thursday, Mace explained how he got the job of Chief Creative Officer for Beast Philanthropy.

"In this video, Casey [an American YouTuber] introduces me to MrBeast, who then offers me a Job. I take you on the journey with me from Cape Town, South Africa, to the USA to reveal it all," Mace wrote in the video's description.
