Rapper Jay-Z received the Dr Dre Global Impact Award at the 2024 Grammys and brought his 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, on stage when he accepted the honour.
The award is given to black music creators for their "dedication to the art form that has greatly influenced the industry," according to the Grammys website.
The Grammys took place on 4 February in Los Angeles and other stars such as Tyla, Taylor Swift, SZA and Miley Cyrus were honoured.
Taking to the stage, Jay-Z wore a black suit, while Blue-Ivy wore an elegant white dress with a semi-metallic sheen.
"Thank you very much. I used to say [the Grammy trophy is] a sippy cup, but Blue's grown up now; she doesn't take sippy cups, and she has her own Grammys," the rapper said at the start of his speech.
The rapper referred to Blue Ivy's mother, Beyoncé's, video Brown Skin Girl, which won a Grammy for Best Music Video and featured Blue Ivy, according to People.
He then thanked Dr Dre, "Thank you, sir. All the doors that you opened showed us that we can be rock stars."
He continued to praise the legendary hip-hop producer and rapper for his impact and contribution to the genre, having uplifted many artists.
Jay-Z also called out the Grammys for snubbing his wife, Beyoncé, at the awards ceremonies.
"I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year," he said, referring to Beyoncé.
The crowd seemingly went quiet after Jay-Z said this, but he doubled down.
"So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work," he said, referring to the Grammys.
Last year, Beyoncé was nominated for nine categories, but Album of the Year went to Harry Styles' Harry's House.

Jay-Z then spoke to the nominees at the ceremony.
"Some of you are going to go home tonight and feel like you've been robbed. Some of you may be robbed. Some of you don't belong in the category," he said.
After getting a strong reaction from the crowd, he added, "When I get nervous, I tell the truth."
He gave the audience a final piece of advice: "Outside of that, we got to keep showing up - and forget the Grammys for a second – just in life... you got to keep showing up... until they give you all those accolades you feel you deserve. Until they call you chairman, until they call you a genius, until they call you the greatest of all time."
Jay-Z and Beyoncé's twins, Rumi and Sir, were not seen at the ceremony. Blue Ivy has previously joined her mother on stage for her Renaissance tour.
