In April, the studio unveiled the first teaser and the title for the long-delayed sequel at CinemaCon. At the annual convention, Cameron said they "set out once again to push the limits of what cinema can do".
Disney distribution chief Tony Chambers said Avatar: The Way of Water is well worth the wait.
The film, which will be released in cinemas on 16 December, is the first of four planned sequels.
