Olivia Wilde will direct an upcoming female-centred Marvel movie for Sony.
The actor made her directorial debut in 2019 with the critically acclaimed movie Booksmart which won Best First Feature at the 2020 Independent Spirit Awards.
Deadline reports that the movie might be centred on Spider-Woman, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
The 36-year-old will direct and co-write the film alongside her writing partner Katie Silberman.
Olivia confirmed the news on Twitter and fuelled the Spider-Woman speculation as she retweeted the article with a spider emoji.

She also shared a picture of her daughter on Instagram in a Spider-Man costume.
According to Entertainment Weekly several characters in the comics have suited up under the name over the years including Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy and Julia Carpenter. The most well-known version is Jessica Drew who first appeared in the comics as Spider-Woman in 1977.
