Well-known film and television producer Niel van Deventer - recognised for producing the award-winning South African movie Dis ek, Anna - has been accused of not paying some of his crew  members, seemingly racking up more than R1 million in IOUs.

The bulk of his predicament stems from a R1 million loan he seemingly reneged on, instead allegedly using the money for another production.

Four more production crew, who worked on Van Deventer's sets, have also come forward claiming they were never paid in full for their work and together claim he owes them around R400 000 in outstanding payments.
