There is a slum in Kampala, Uganda, named Wakaliga that has become an unlikely tourist destination for visitors from around the world.

Looking at this unassuming settlement, you wouldn't be able to tell that it is the home of a film studio with a dedicated, global, online cult following. It is the home of Ramon Film Productions, or "Wakaliwood", and though it is far from the budgets, resources, or scale of Hollywood, Bollywood, or even Nollywood, it is unrivalled in its DIY ethos and ground-up initiative.
