- Apple Music has launched its Visionary Women 2020 campaign, which sees 15 female celebs putting together their own playlists to celebrate Women's Month.
- Not only are the playlists curated by females, they're made up of music by female artists as well.
- Some of the local stars enlisted to share their compilations include Nandi Madida, Nadia Nakai and Holly Rey.
Want to know what's on the playlist of your favourite female star? Well, Apple Music has just launched its Visionary Women campaign to celebrate music and the powerful females behind it this Women's Month.
The campaign, which is in its second year, "aims to highlight the women that have shaped, shifted and enriched the local and global music landscape," a statement explains.
15 celebs were enlisted to curate their own unique playlists on Apple Music, putting together their top picks from female artists around the globe. The campaign features playlists created by Nandi Madida, Nadia Nakai, Sha Sha, Natasha Thahane, Loot Love and Holly Rey.
"This playlist was inspired by how versatile, dynamic and strong women truly are, and how I'm inspired by different women from all walks of life. We need to celebrate how colourful we are as a gender and that we can conquer anything by being uniquely and unapologetically ourselves," Nandi said about her compilation.
According to Nadia Nakai, her playlist was inspired by music from her childhood as well as songs she enjoys now.
"The women I chose for my playlist range from music I grew up listening to like India Arie, Erykah Badu and Tracy Chapman to the fierce women I listen to today like Saweetie, Megan Thee Stallion and Snoh Aalegra. They've shaped my personality and confidence and have been the soundtrack to many monumental moments in my life, like a first kiss, first date or first cry and heartbreak," she said.
