  • Hasley has spoken about her Grammys snub in a post shared on Instagram Stories.
  • The singer released her album Manic in early 2020, which contains her hit single Without Me.
  • "It's not always about the music or quality or culture," Halsey said about the Grammys selection process.

US singer Halsey is one of the latest stars to open up about the 63rd Grammys after she did not receive any nominations for the event.

Halsey released her album, Manic, early this year which included her hit single Without Me

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the songstress finally gave her thoughts on the 2021 award show.

"I've been thinking and wanted to choose my words carefully because a lot of people have extended sympathy and apology to me since the Grammy nominations," she wrote, according to Billboard.

"The Grammys are an elusive process," she continued. "It can often be about behind the scenes private performances, knowing the right people, campaigning through the grapevine, with the right handshake and 'bribes' that can be just ambiguous enough to pass as 'not bribes'."

Halsey added that there's a lot of politics that goes into who gets nominated, which includes "committing to exclusive TV performances".

"It's not always about the music or quality or culture," she went on to say. "While I am THRILLED for my talented friends who were recognised this year, I am hoping for more transparency or reform. But I'm sure this post will blacklist me anyway."

Halsey is not the only star who was snubbed by the Grammys -- The Weeknd, who released his smash hit Blinding Lights this year, was also left off the nominees list, which resulted in him calling the award show "corrupt"

Justin Bieber also raised concerns after claiming his album, Changes, was nominated in the wrong category.
