Afro-soul singer and multi-award-winning musician Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, died on Monday night, aged 36.

Her family shared a statement on her social media accounts to confirm her death.

"Surrounded by family and loved ones, Zahara departed this world on Monday," read the statement.
