It's been 11 months since late rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes was murdered and rapper Nadia Nakai, who was his girlfriend when he died, has teased her fans with a snippet of the AKA tribute song called Never Leave.
Taking to her Instagram timeline, she teased the song dedicated to her late partner, saying it will be released on 26 January, two days before AKA's birthday.
The Company hitmaker was shot and killed on 10 February 2023.
"I Miss You. Happy Heavenly Birthday (28 January 2024)," she captioned the post.
The rapper announced in November that she was releasing two music projects, one of which will be an ''extremely personal'' tribute EP to AKA.
"Kiernan and I worked on a lot of music while we were together, so there will be collaborations on the EP as well as the album; some songs that I did with him were turn-up songs that will sit on the album," she said at the time.
"The EP is purely a tribute EP, so I've included some voice notes that he had sent me and some personal messages – so it's very personal. It's like a diary."
In July, the rapper's mother, Lynn Forbes, said there were plans to establish a foundation that would work around the causes close to her son's heart. She added they were also working on "products or merchandise" for the Megacy (AKA's fans) and a deluxe version of his posthumous album, Mass Country.
The Kiernan Forbes Foundation - run by his friends and family - and merchandise company Bravado have collaborated to bring his fanbase exclusive pieces and art, which will be made available from 26- 28 January as part of his birthday celebrations.

While children were beginning their academic school year last week, Lynn penned a lengthy post on her Instagram timeline reflecting on the relationship he (AKA) had with her granddaughter, Kairo.
"I know you were there with me when I took her to school for her first day," Lynn wrote.
"You stayed with her all day until I picked her up. You were there with me doing the same on day 2, and you sat with me through the parent info session last night," Lynn said.
Lynn then wrote about AKA missing out on certain parent-child activities at school with his daughter that he looked forward to.
"It broke my heart when they spoke about the dad and daughter robotics days coming up this year. I remember you being very excited about her getting to [Grade 3], so you can do this with her," Lynn wrote.
