It's no secret that not everybody is a fan of Cardi B's hit track WAP.
The rapper revealed that the song, which includes explicit lyrics that are definitely for adult ears only, has received backlash from conservative men in the past. But, despite the hate, WAP continued to break records.
The music video for the track also triggered a response from Tiger King's Carole Baskin, who called out Cardi B for using big cats.
Now Snoop Dogg has shared his views on the song.
According to NME, in an interview with Central Ave, the rapper called for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion (who features on the track) to "have some privacy, some intimacy where he wants to find out as opposed to you telling him".
"That should be a woman's pride and possession," he went on to say about the song's lyrical content, adding: "That's your jewel of the Nile. That's what you should hold on to. That should be a possession that no one gets to know about until they know about it."
Defending Cardi, Offset told TMZ: "I don't get in female business," adding: "I hate when men do that."
"That's the number one record. Anybody can say what they wanna do and say what they wanna say; it's six times platinum in three/four months."
"It wasn't that bad," the rapper added, mentioning that the song went to number one.
Offset also pointed out the hypocrisy in the situation. "As rappers, we talk about the same shit," he said.
"Men can't speak on women. They're too powerful, first off. And it's a lot of women empowerment. Don't shoot it down. We never had this many artists, that's female artists, running this shit. They catching up to us. Passing us and setting records."
Offset made it clear that he has a good relationship with Snoop, saying he could call him up to talk about it.
"Women are strong right now. We should uplift our women. And don't say they can and can't do this. Do you know how long women been told they can't do something, or they shouldn't do this or been blackballed out of entertainment?" he ended.
