Funk band Kool & the Gang are coming to South Africa in November with special guest Earth Wind & Fire Experience, a tribute group.
The venues and dates for their shows are 28 November 2024 at the SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria and 30 November 2024 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town.
Tickets for the performances go on sale 8 March at 09:00 on Ticketmaster.co.za. The Discovery Bank pre-sale begins at 09:00 on 6 March and ends at 08:59 on 8 March.
Kool & the Gang are known for their hits Celebrate, Get Down On It, Fresh and other songs. The group has sold millions of records and received multiple music awards, even being honoured at the Grammys.
The band released their latest album, People Just Wanna Have Fun, in 2023.
Accompanying the iconic group on their tour is the Earth Wind & Fire Experience, which is fronted by the original group's guitarist Al McKay. The tribute band is expected to play all of the funk band's most well-known songs, including September, Let’s Groove, Boogie Wonderland, Fantasy, You Want My Love and more.
