Just when we thought we'd sang along and gone down memory lane with many R&B stars who made their way to South Africa in 2023, Grammy award-winning superstar Joe Thomas wants you to count him in.

The American-born star is heading to South Africa in the new year and will perform at the Sun City Superbowl on 27 April, Cape Town at Grand Arena, GrandWest on 28 April, and Pretoria at SunBet Arena on 30 April.

The show presented by Vertex Events will be supported by local South African acts that will be announced in early 2024.

Some songs the star is known and loved for are I Wanna Know, All That I Am, Good Girls, Don't Wanna Be A Player, If I Was Your Man, and Thank God I Found You.

"We are extremely proud to bring Joe back into the country. We are on a mission to make the shows a specially curated live moment. Production, live music, and a gathering of R&B music lovers will be the main focus,"  said Vertex Events' Executive Director, Thato Segaole

The American-born R&B star has multiple albums and collaborated with stars like Mariah Carey, G-Unit, 50 Cent, Carl Thomas, and Brian McKnight, among others.

Earlier this year, Vertex Events and G Twenty One brought R&B sensation Tamia to the country.

Tamia kicked off her South African tour on 4 July at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, in Cape Town. On 7 July, she performed at the Durban ICC and wrapped up her stint on 8 July at the SunBet Arena at Times Square in Pretoria.

Vertex also brought international stars Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild for the Afro-Soul and R&B version of the Magic Music Sessions event.
