The US singer Lalah Hathaway will be making her debut South African performances next year in January.

SA audiences can listen to Hathaway's soulful vocals and smooth R&B music live in a series of concerts.

An Intimate Evening with Lalah Hathaway will grace Cape Town's Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and Johannesburg's Montecasino's Teatro.

The daughter of the soul legend Donny Hathaway has forged her one name in the American music industry, having won five Grammys.

She has created music with big name artists like Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Anderson Paak and Snoop Dogg.

Her soul, R&B and jazz-infused sound is noted across her seven solo records, which mix contemporary and classic influences.

Hathaway isn't just hitting the road in terms of international touring but also has a new album on the way. Her last record, Honestly, was released in 2017.

The concerts in Joburg will take place on 19 January and 20 January at 20:00 and 21 January at 18:00. The Cape Town concert will take place on 27 January at 19:00.

The company Liberty and promoter Showtime Management announced the concert series.

Tickets can be bought on Showtime Management's website and Web Tickets.
