South African Spotify users have increasingly shown their preference for home-grown music, with a staggering 101% increase in local music consumption for 2023.

This is unsurprising, considering SA's strong roster of local acts like Kabza De Small, Kelvin Momo, Nasty C and Tyler ICU.

Spotify released listener statistics during their Wrapped season, which is one of the most anticipated digital events of the year for many users. Some have even dubbed it 'The World Cup for music nerds'.
