Dwayne Fields takes on natural forces and unpredictable dangers as he spends seven days in some of the most hostile places on Earth. In a one-on-one interview with News24's Herman Eloff, he tells the story of where his journey began. 

One thing that has always stuck with me from the 2000 film Cast Away, starring Tom Hanks, was one of its closing scenes. In it, Hanks' character Chuck Noland returns to civilisation after being stranded on a remote island for four years.

A large pillowy soft bed awaits him on his first night after being rescued. But instead, Chuck curls up on the floor next to the bed. The comfortable has become uncomfortable for him.
