'I had to build him as I go': Sicelo Buthelezi prepares viewers for his Skeem Saam debut as Toby

Sicelo Buthelezi's character, Teddy, was one viewers fell in love with instantly on Mzansi Magic's (DStv 161) Gomora. Now, with a Royalty Soapie Award in the bag for Outstanding Newcomer, Buthelezi is switching things up to bring to life the admittedly different and challenging character of Tobias "Toby" Mashwahla in SABC 1's Skeem Saam. 

Per the production: "Toby is a university student with a mischievous streak who gets expelled and is forced to move to Turfloop after causing some serious trouble back in Johannesburg. He turns over a new leaf, starts attending Turfloop University, and even gets a part-time job. He tries to stay away from trouble, but will trouble stay away from him?" 

Buthelezi makes his debut on Tuesday 2 April, in the weeknight drama's 19:30 timeslot.
