  • Phuti Khomo has joined the cast of etv drama Imbewu.
  • She makes her debut as Josina on Friday.
  • Her character will rock MaZulu's (played by Leleti Khumalo) boat before proving that she is not a homewrecker.

Former Miss SA Teen, model and actor Phuti Khomo is returning to the small screen in e.tv drama Imbewu

Khomo joins the drama as Josina, Zimele 'Ngcolosi' Bhengu's (played by Tony Kgoroge) fianceé from Mozambique. She makes her debut on Friday, 23 December.

"Josina is a beautiful Mozambican woman who arrives at the Bhengu house expecting to move in and assume the role of lady of the house," a press statement reads. "The two met six months earlier, and they fell in love. We learn that he told her to come to live with him because his marriage with MaZulu (played by Leleti Khumalo) was long over."

However, her character gets furious when she realises that Ngcolosi was dishonest with her and is using her to hurt MaZulu.

Josina, however, is unlike the other young women Ngcolosi has cheated on MaZulu with in the past, as "he really cares about her". This rattles MaZulu and makes her believe that her marriage is truly over.

"Josina leaves after making it clear to MaZulu that she's not a home wrecker and to show Ngcolosi that she's not a pawn," the statement continues. "Though he has strong feelings for her, he will not go after her because she is not MaZulu."

Earlier in the month, Ngcolosi, who was believed to be dead, returned. Before what was thought to be his death, viewers witnessed what they thought was the burial of his body.

"Now, as we flash back two years in the story, it will be confirmed that Ngcolosi never died," a press statement read. "And while he was gathering his strength, Khemisi (played by Thabiso Lekoba) was his safeguard the entire time."
