For the past few weeks, viewers have been treated to an intimate look at the South African rapper K.O, also known as Ntokozo Mdluli. Inside Life with K.O is an eight-part BET series that premiered on 18 October.

The show doesn't just follow the life of the Caracara hitmaker but also explores his personal network. Laying bare the glamour and grit of his reality, the show shares anecdotes and stories from his life.

The series banks on his ever-increasing popularity and legacy, with him releasing the warmly received album SR3 last year, which featured the hit Sete

Local rap reality TV shows

Inside Life with K.O wouldn't be the first time that a reality TV show has been made about a local rapper.

In 2015, the three rappers Ma-E, Reason and L-Tido had their own reality show on Vuzu. They starred in Rap Dads, which showed how the three balanced their careers and fatherhood.
