The SABC plans to remove the remaining Afrikaans content from SABC 2 in March and cancel the long-running current affairs show Fokus, while the Afrikaans TV news bulletin will move to SABC 3 at the 20:30 timeslot.

After the recent cancellation of 7de Laan, Afrikaans shows like the travelogue Voetspore, Noot vir Noot and a few music shows will move to SABC3, which is the smallest of the broadcaster's three traditional terrestrial TV channels in terms of reach, footprint and audience with plummeting ratings on the channel over the past decade.
