Nothing has changed at the summit, with Toyota's Hilux bakkie still serving as the favourite among most buyers in South Africa.
Dealerships across the country sold 2 645 Hilux bakkies – marginally down from the previous month (2 858). Additionally, 1 514 units were exported to international markets.
Next up is the Ford Ranger, which sold 1 914 units in January. Its Silverton Assembly plant built and exported a healthy 4 130 bakkies overseas. The Volkswagen Amarok is also built alongside the Ranger in Pretoria, and this model moved 222 figures.
