In January, Volkswagen South Africa launched the facelift version of the Polo. 1 455 of these new cars found new homes in the first month of the year, and that was before the company even had a chance to roll out all of the derivatives in the 2022 line-up. This month, additional 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged Polos with DSG (automatic) transmissions hit showrooms.
The Polo 1.0 TSI 85kW DSG derivatives will join the Polo 1.0 TSI 70kW Manual and Polo GTI derivatives on showroom floors. The 1.0 TSI 85kW DSG derivatives account for 40% of the Polo model range sales volume in SA.

The facelift Polo isn't the cheapest B-segment car you can buy, but it's a best-selling car thanks to attractive styling, a spacious interior, its gutsy performance and decent fuel economy.
The Polo Life 1.0 TSI 85kW DSG that launches this month comes standard with a digital dashboard display, Park Distance Control (front and rear), electric folding mirrors, lumbar support for the driver and front passenger, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles as well as 15-inch Essex alloy wheels.

The Polo R-Line 1.0 TSI 85kW DSG that joins it on the dealer floor distinguishes itself from the rest with a striking 'R' design. In addition to the standard features of the Polo Life, the Polo R-Line is offered with 16-inch Valencia alloy wheels, a Composition Media infotainment system with inductive mobile charging, and a two-zone climatronic air-conditioning system.

The Volkswagen Polo facelift comes standard with a three-year or 120 000km mechanical warranty, a three-year or 45 000km EasyDrive Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. Service intervals are every 15 000km or annually, whichever comes first. You also have the option to extend EasyDrive Maintenance and EasyDrive Service Plans up to 10 years/ 300 000km if you plan to pay off and keep the car.
