As our frontline workers continue their battle against the Covid-19 global pandemic, everyone is doing their part by staying home and social distancing.

But we can’t help but miss hanging out with those closest to us. Our new normal is virtual hang out sessions with friends and family to reconnect and keep ourselves sane while keeping safe. Plus, why not pump up the fun and turn your virtual hangouts into so much more than just a quick catch-up chat; here are four games to play with friends and family in your next cyber meet-ups:

Trivia - Take a spin on the regular trivia game by setting up a trivia challenge that friends and family can join. Have one neutral party in the game ask the trivia question or take turns to ask each other questions while the rest put their best foot forward in guessing.

Charades - A classic game of charades is always sure to have everyone in stitches with laughter. All that's needed is a few theme ideas or even freestyle topics, like movies, celebs or places, and each person gets to take a turn acting out a chosen prompt. There are also gaming apps that include themed prompts for charades, that can be downloaded onto everyone’s devices beforehand.

Pictionary - Likewise, Pictionary is another classic game that doesn’t take much to play. All that’s needed is that each person or screen has a pad of paper and pens or pencils to draw out prompts or ideas for the rest to guess. It’s always hilarious and impressive to see what gets created when we visually explain a concept.

Most Likely To - This game is not for the faint of heart but can always guarantee a good laugh. It’s easy to find a list of ‘Most Likely To’ prompts online that you can ask friends on the call. After each question, everyone needs to hold up a slip of paper with the name of the friend they believe is most likely to do the prompt. There will be rebuttals in this game, but also tons of laughter.

All that’s needed to join in on the fun is to connect with family through a video calling app. Huawei wants to help you get closer while staying apart as they introduce their video calling feature, MeeTime, into their Huawei Mobile Services.

This new feature, which boasts 1080p quality video calling capabilities and low internet data usage, will be included on their newer devices launching soon, like the budget friendly and sleek P40 Lite.

The video calling app also includes AI technology which can visually enhance and brighten low light calls - allowing us to not miss a moment while catching up with loved ones.

With so many tech developments we can now be closer while staying distant and can relive the highlights of a video call by simply hitting the screen record option on your phone during a call to save and enjoy when missing family and friends.
