Divorce laws are expected to change after a recent Gauteng High Court ruling in Pretoria.

Made on 11 May 2022, the court declared that a particular section of the Divorce Act was unconstitutional and unfair towards women because in terms of it, they could not benefit from a marriage that was entered into out of community of property without the inclusion of the accrual system.
