  • Hollywood couples have been announcing divorces and separation a lot this year.
  • Jeannie Mai and Jeezy, as well as Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert, are joining the list.
  • The news came in this weekend that these two couples are heading for divorce.

Since the beginning of the year, we've been getting news about celebrities divorcing, from Sofia Vergara to Ariana Grande to Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles. Sadly, Jeannie Mai and Jeezy, as well as Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert, are joining the list.

When it comes to celebrities, we all get a glimpse of their private lives through social media, but we've all heard that what you see on social media isn't always how things are behind the scenes. So when these power couples' divorce news hit the internet, it was shocking.

The couples took fans by surprise, as they looked like they were doing well on social media. There have been no rumours about their marriages being in trouble as well.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai

News came in that American rapper Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai after two years of marriage. According to AP News, the 45-year-old rapper filed to end his marriage on Thursday. The divorce filing said, "The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken" and "There is no hope for reconciliation." Jeannie and Jeezy got married in March 2021, after they had been dating since 2018. They welcomed their daughter last year in January, who Jeezy is seeking joint legal custody of. They also had a prenuptial agreement that the rapper expects will be enforced.

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert

Another couple that seems to be heading for divorce is artist Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert after seven years of marriage and infidelity rumours. Taking to social media, Teyana posted a photo of herself and Iman and confirmed the separation but insisted they are still best friends.

"In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 1000% clear, 'infidelity' ain't one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it come to co-parenting our two beautiful children. Most importantly, we are family and in the 10 years together and 7 years married, we ain't never played with or about that.[sic]" She continued to add that the only reason she was opening up now is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand, which is unfair to all the parties involved.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness

The Australian couple met in 1995 on the set of a TV series, Corelli, and a year later, they tied the knot. They share two children, who are 23 and 18, and are now ending their 27 years of marriage. They have released a joint statement to People saying, "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all our lives."
