"So what are you guys up to tonight?" was a question posed to me by my friend at a mutual's house recently where we were celebrating their daughter turning four.

It was only 17:00, but you must understand, it'd been many hours for me; many, many tantrums and meltdowns – I'd already lived full days in that one day, if that makes any sense at all.

"No plans tonight," I said.
