Youtubers Regomoditswe and Modise's love story is beautiful to watch. They are affectionately known as RegoDise, a nickname telling of just how interwoven they are as a married couple. The affection and love they share is truly infectious.

"I knew that our love should be forever and sealed with marriage when I felt at peace, secure, protected and most importantly, loved by Dise. I knew that by marrying him, I would have a God-fearing man who would pray for me, for us, grow in our faith together, and that our life would be filled with endless adventures," Rego tells us.

But this wasn't always the case. Dise was rejected for some years before Rego gave him a chance.

"We met in high school, he was in Grade 10, and I was in Grade 8. However, Dise only asked me out when he was in matric in 2008, while we were on the school bus," she shares.

In 2011, social media connected them again, and they rekindled their friendship.

Ironically, after weeks of chatting, they went out for a movie date and watched Friends with Benefits.

After watching the movie, love-related decisions were made. "We decided not just to be friends with benefits but to make it official," she explains.

Dise said his heart had decided that he was all in when they started dating.

"I promised to assure her I was in it for the long haul and wanted a friendship that would mature into marriage. We prayed about it and trusted God for marriage," Dise says.

"After seven years of dating, he proposed to me on a hot air balloon ride out in Muldersdrift. A year later, on 1 October 2019, we tied the knot and began our happily ever after. We have been together for 11 years," Rego says.

We often hear how hard marriage is, making it seem like marriage is something not to aspire to.

They tell us, "What we love most about being married is that we get to live our best lives with each other as best friends, all while honouring God and our families."

And their definition of love:

"Love is an active display of acceptance that you're in a relationship with another human being who is growing daily just as you are. Therefore, you need to be patient with each other and forgiving of one another."

Five things that make their marriage work:

1 - Prayer

2 - Clear and concise communication

3 - Being adventurous (i.e., exploring and travelling, trying out new and different things such as bungee jumping, etc.)

4 - Creating online content (This allows us to be carefree and spontaneous in our marriage)

5 - Great intimacy

Love and relationships need to be constantly worked on. They say, "We are patient with ourselves and one another because we are growing and maturing into responsible adults and, someday, parents. We forgive each other's faults and adopted childhood lessons, not forgetting that we are spontaneous and adventurous in our marriage, always having fun."
