While most sexual encounters end in post-orgasmic joy, some people are faced with a very different experience after sexual activity. Leanne Steyn, a sexologist based in Pretoria, helps us understand the condition known as post-coital dysphoria (PCD) that can leave people miserable.

It might seem strange to experience negative feelings after sex, but it is a common and valid experience. Known colloquially as "post-sex blues", it can happen after consensual and enjoyable sex, and it affects both men and women.
