- It's said that a wedding invitation is a bill written in calligraphy, and the bill gets even steeper when you're asked to be a bridesmaid.
- But Business Insider contributor Jen Glantz decided to turn the tables.
- After more than After more than 75 bridesmaid dresses, over 103 first dates and, "because all of her friends got engaged before she could land a second date" Jen started a business as a professional bridesmaid.
First, by running a Craigslist ad, Jen found that hundreds of women were interested in her services. More importantly, they told her why they needed her - and for what.

Next, she built her business infrastructure: a website, a price list, package details, videos and so on. The services provided include: we walk down the aisle, speech-giving and speech-writing sessions, and other training services.
Jen then did a few test weddings to work out the kinks. Since then she's added features and hired a marketing team.
On Jen's website, Jen shares, "At all of the weddings I went to, I started to wonder why isn't there anyone whose job it is to be there for the bride?"
On the testimonials page, one happy bride says, "I had a lot of friends and family getting ready with me on the wedding day, which was a lot of fun, but it was nice for everyone to focus on their beauty while Jen was making sure that I was drinking enough water and eating lunch, while she moved my car and made sure that my ‘Just Married’ sign was ready to go. About 25 minutes before the church ceremony started, my maid of honour realised that she had left her heals at my house and had arrived at the church in her flip flops. I asked Jen to run back and get them; Jen kindly obliged and came back with plenty of time to spare."

Another bride shares, "Your mother or your mother in law will drive you insane. If you don’t have a therapist, Jen Glantz will serve that role for you, and happily. Throughout my wedding planning process, it was therapeutic for me to word vomit my thoughts (read: anxiety attacks) to her via email.
"Things will go wrong on your wedding day that you do not foresee and cannot anticipate. My 60 year old mother realised she forgot to bring her bra once we were mere hours away from the ceremony. No really. It’s true. Like the saint from the heavens that she is, Jen Glantz had a spare bra. In her freggin’ fanny pack."
