The wedding industry is broad and consists of many opportunities. Wedding expos are popular; however, just like weddings, they differ in size from regular weddings to luxury weddings where huge amounts of money are spent.
Qatar has won a bid to host the Destination Wedding Planners Congress (DWP). This is a globally renowned platform for wedding planners, connoisseurs, hoteliers and professionals in the luxury wedding planning industry. The event will take place in Doha next year in March.

It will feature industry leaders engaging in panel discussions and activities. It will also include over 450 delegates and 140 industry experts. Among the experts are celebrity wedding planners, royalty specialists and destination wedding experts, wedding suppliers such as venues, hotels, palaces, exclusive destinations, wedding gown designers, jewellery partners, cake designers and photographers.

With destination weddings globally on the rise, Qatar maintains a strong appeal for couples seeking to have a unique and luxurious wedding experience," Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker said.

The Congress was previously hosted in Greece, Mauritius, Florence, Thailand, Mexico and Bali. A partnership agreement was signed between a group of executives and Mr Akbar Al Baker and Mr Ackash Jain, Director of QnA International, on 17 October this year. "We are pleased to have Qatar Tourism sponsor the DWF Congress. Their support is monumental to build positive momentum in the global luxury wedding industry," Mr Jain and organisers of the DWP Congress added.
