  • A Boston couple has been stranded as their dog ate the groom's passport.
  • Their wedding is set for a couple of weeks, and now they remain hopeful for a solution to the travel woes.
  • They've also contacted lawmakers to assist them as no appointments are available.

Planning a destination wedding can be super stressful. With destination weddings, there's a lot more that could potentially go wrong.

We once covered a story about a woman who shared on TikTok that she lost her luggage travelling to her destination wedding. The luggage contained her wedding gown and her future husband's tuxedo. Fortunately, she found her luggage.

Donato Frattaroli and Magda Mazri from Boston, America, faced their own dilemma after their dog ate the groom's passport just a few days before they were set to travel to Italy for their wedding.

Now, the Boston couple has been left scrambling just days before flying because their golden retriever named Chickie ate the groom's passport. They're hoping that lawmakers can help them get a replacement and fast. Chikie is a one and half-year-old doggo who got himself into trouble.

Fortunately, Magda was calm. "It was not good, like it was very stressful," she said.

The couple has less than two weeks until their wedding and for their golden retriever to find a new chew toy. At first glance, the passport didn't look damaged, but once they got a closer look, they realised it was bad. "All his personal information and picture was torn up. The bar code at the back of the passport was torn up," the bride-to-be added. With no appointments available, they're trying to get a new passport, and with time running out, the couple reached out to lawmakers.

"We sent out an e-mail to Congressman Lynch's office and got in touch with Senator Markey, and their staff have been super communicative, but it ultimately comes down to the State Department and the passport office," the groom said. Now, all that's left for the couple is hope as the bride said, "there's no plan B."

"I am not putting it into the air... we're going. I'm trying to stay positive, so I'm not allowing myself to even think of plan B... There's no other option for me. We're going to Italy on Friday one way or the other," the bride added.
