- However, according to these Quora users, some of the best weddings they attended where the simpler, more intimate ones.
- So, it seems that downscaling and simplifying your wedding will not only please your pocket, but your guests as well.
According to user Mary Grant, the most enjoyable wedding she attended had only four guests.
“The best wedding I went to was my friend and her husband’s. They held a tiny wedding in a Russian Orthodox Church,” she says.
According to Mary, the celebration was short and simple.
“They did not have a wedding cake and no after party. They did have a photoshoot though. In the middle of her wedding, she took her heels off and replaced them with white sneakers,” she adds.
The couple wore amazing clothes, said their vows, and afterwards, it was all “done and dusted,” says Mary.
“It was amazing because it was so simple! Unlike a lot of other weddings where it's over the top, loud, and very long. It made them look very humble,” she says.

Similarly, according to user Celia Milton, when it comes to planning and executing a wedding – it is the joy of the occasion and the love between the couple that really makes the day, not the costly and often unnecessary details.
“I’ve been to hundreds of weddings so it’s hard to pick the ‘best’ one, but uniformly, the ones I love and remember are the ones where the couple enjoyed themselves and didn’t let the details get in their way on the day,” she says.
Most of the weddings Celia enjoyed were smaller. Where the feeling of unity and joy between the guests and the couple was palpable, she says.

On the same note, according to user Jason Leaman, it is the simpler weddings that tend to encourage him more.
“I’ve come away from the biggest, most expensive, most extravagant weddings and felt flat, and I’ve come away from the smallest most humble and intimate weddings and felt inspired into completely seeing life differently,” he says.

With Covid-19 still forming a part of the foreseeable future and large events being somewhat risky, now is the perfect time to consider scaling down your wedding. Who knows, it could turn out to be the best wedding your guests have ever attended.
