I have never cared for soccer. It is one of the sports that never grew on me, despite how popular it is worldwide. 

Though I do not follow it, I know many things about soccer and its most prominent players without even trying. For example, I know how Orlando Pirates performed in their Nedbank Cup semi-final game against Kaizer Chiefs on 6 May. 

And I also know that they have a long-standing rivalry with Kaizer Chiefs, but I previously did not know the history behind the soccer club and just how much it means to the people of Soweto.
