A burrowing owl unintentionally took a two-week vacation to the Caribbean when it boarded a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in Florida.

With the help of the ship's crew members, the bird was safely rescued and taken to a wildlife center as a precautionary measure, Fox 35 reported.

Burrowing owls are a threatened species. Their diets consist of mostly insects and sometimes small reptiles, birds, frogs, and rodents, so a vacation on a cruise ship was not the best habitat for the bird.
