Myth: One peeling treatment is sufficient to last months

Having one session will make a difference to the skin, but multiple sessions are essential to achieve the ultimate desired outcome. We recommend you book multiple sessions, some bi-weekly and some monthly, in a series of peel treatments to get your skin into the best condition. Maintenance treatments are very important and required.

Myth: Peelings will make my pigmentation marks worse

It is often the case that after one peeling treatment, your pigmentation may appear slightly worse. This is to be expected due to the keratinised dead skin cells being removed, giving your skin a bright, fresher look, which could highlight the pigmentation marks somewhat. However, it is essential to re-book for further peel treatments, according to your professional skincare therapist's guidance. As you undergo more sessions, the pigmentation will rise up more and eventually reduce in appearance.

Myth: If my skin is sensitive and red, I shouldn't have peels

There are various skin peels, each targeting specific skin types and conditions. The skin peel you require will depend on your skin concerns. If your skin is sensitised and reddish, you can still have peel treatments which are brightening and refreshing to the skin. In fact, if the skin has redness due to acne-type spots, peels which contain salicylic acid would be ideal to help reduce inflammation.
