Red, itchy, flaky skin, stiff joints, and inflamed tendons - are just some of the symptoms associated with psoriasis. 

While you may think of it as a condition that simply affects the skin, there's much more to it, says Dr Tarryn Jacobs. 

"Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated disease that causes inflammation in the body. This means that it not only negatively affects the skin but can cause inflammation in the joints and other organs," she explains.
