'The hair loss problem is huge in South Africa': Trichologist talks hair restoration

You may not have heard too much about trichology - the science of the structure, function and diseases of human hair.

In a clinical sense, trichology is the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases of the scalp and hair - and there is little knowledge of the interventions that can be taken with those struggling with hair loss in South Africa. 

Skinstitute founder Dr Kgomotso Ntau tells News24: "Unfortunately, a lot of people only have basic skill or knowledge of it. There is definitely a lack [of knowledge thereof] in South Africa, there isn't a school of trichology in South Africa; it is very expensive for those interested in qualifying as a trichologist.
