Nkanini residents are devastated after an unidentified body was found in the area on Sunday 17 March.

The deceased was reportedly discovered by a passerby around 07:00.

One of the eyewitnesses, Ayanda Mpetshe who resides in the area, described the incident as scary.

He said the deceased had several stab wounds in the face and head. “His upper body was covered with blood and he had no shoes,” explained Mpetshe.

He suspected the deceased was killed somewhere and dumped in the area.

“I suspect the deceased was robbed before being killed and dumped there. We tried to look at his face but we couldn’t identify him because of the blood. He was wearing black trousers, a navy jacket and a white T-shirt under the jacket,” he said.

Mpetshe expressed anguish at the rising crime rate in the community.

Provincial police spokesperson Sgt Wesley Twigg confirmed the incident, saying that Harare police registered a murder case for investigation following a stabbing incident at Enkanini on Sunday. He described the deceased as a 37-year-old man.
