Teenager arrested after fatally stabbing man in Graaff-Reinet

Police in Graaff-Reinet have arrested a teenager for murder after he fatally stabbed Jandre Ward (30) in Bree Street, Graaff-Reinet yesterday, October 28. 

According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, on Friday morning around 08:40, police were summoned to a complaint of murder at a house in Bree Street. 

"At the scene, police found Ward's lifeless body with a stab wound in the upper body," said Nkohli. 

He further said preliminary investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect and the recovery of the murder weapon. 

Nkholi said the suspect is due to appear in the Graaff-Reinet Magistrate's Court on Monday, October 31, on a charge of murder.
