At least 11 breeders from the Eastern Cape will be auctioning their best cattle at the first Coastal Elite Boran Auction on April 27, at Vygieskraal Farm in Jeffreys Bay, where 140 potential buyers are expected to be in attendance.
Eastern Cape breeder, Stephnus Scheepers, said that although the Boran Auction is hosted throughout the country, this will be the first Coastal Elite Boran Auction where 52 studs, six of which are bulls and 46 female cows, will be on auction.
He said that they are expecting 140 people at the event which will start at 11:00 on April 27, and at least 46 people on Meerkat, an online auction platform.
“People will be travelling from all over the country to attend the auction in Jeffreys Bay. We have also received confirmation that 46 people have registered to bid online, with one farmer based in Zimbabwe,” said Scheepers.
