SAPS Bethelsdorp detectives are seeking the community's assistance in tracing the next-of-kin of a man found dead in Jagsvlakte yesterday, November 23.  

It is alleged that at about 09:10, police received a complaint of a body lying in an open piece of field at Jagsvlakte. On arrival, a member of the community pointed out the body of an unknown man that was partially decomposed.

Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that the deceased was dressed blue jeans, cream socks and black formal shoes. "He had a distinguished tattoo on his right upper arm with the name,  'Sonwabo,'" she said. 

An Inquest was opened and is under investigation.

Anyone who can assist in tracing the family of the person, may be able to identify the deceased or can furnish any information relating to his death, is asked to contact D/WO Attie Knoetze at SAPS Bethelsdorp on 084 660 8003 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. They can also visit the nearest police station or send information via the MYSAPSAPP.

All information received will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
