The body of an unknown woman was found floating in the sea at the Cape Recife Lighthouse this morning, November 3.
The discovery was made by a family walking on the beach at approximately 11:00. They alerted the police and SAPS divers retrieved the body.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that the woman was dressed only in her bra.
"She is African and estimated to be between 50 and 55 years old. There were no visible injuries on her body and the cause of death will only be determined once a postmortem is done," Janse van Rensburg said.
An inquest has been opened by SAPS Humewood.
