Off-duty police officers have apprehended four suspects who were involved in a truck hijacking in Newton Park, Gqeberha earlier today, October 23.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, two off-duty Flying Squad members arrested four suspects who allegedly hijacked a truck in Newton Park at about 10:20 this morning, October 23.
“The officers followed the truck and a Quantum minibus and at the intersection in Circular Drive, Fairview the vehicles were blocked off,” said Naidu.
“Shots were fired, and the suspects were arrested, and a firearm recovered.”
While PE Express was at the scene in Circular Drive, a section of the road was cornered off and traffic was rediverted.
“The scene is still active, and a media statement will be released later,” said Naidu.
