SAPS Algoa Park detectives are seeking the community's assistance in tracing the next-of-kin of a man found dead in Korsten on Thursday, January 26.
At approximately 15:00, police received a complaint of a body lying behind a property in Newbold Road, Korsten. On arrival, they were informed that a security guard was busy with patrols on the premises when he found the body of an unknown man.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that the deceased was dressed in a blue and black shirt, black pants and white and black takkies. He had a full beard with short hair and his estimated age is between 50 and 55 years.
"The deceased had no visible injuries and the cause of death will only be determined through a postmortem," she said.
An inquest was opened and is under investigation. Anyone who can assist in tracing the family of the person, may be able to identify the deceased or can furnish any information relating to his death, is asked to contact D/WO Errol Kleinhans at SAPS Algoa Park on 083 243 4567 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
