Although there is only a very small mathematical chance that South Africa will lose out on a place in the Quarter Finals, Springboks fans will closely watch Ireland taking on Scotland on Saturday in Saint-Chenis.
Ireland is expected to win and go through with the Springboks from Pool B.
France and New Zealand should be confirmed as the two top sides in Pool A on Friday. New Zealand plays Uruguay on Thursday and France’s last pool match is on Friday against Italy.
Wales plays against Georgia on Saturday and should finish on top of Pool C. Fiji is the likely team to join Wales from Pool C but must cement their place by beating Portugal in the final pool match on Sunday night.
England will top Pool D with a victory over Samoa on Saturday but it is a straight shootout for the other spot when Argentina and Japan clash in Sunday’s early match.
