Red Bull Dance Your Style took the vibrant city of Gqeberha by storm as talented dancers gathered at Broadwalk Mall to showcase their unique styles and skills this past Saturday, 1 July.

The event saw dancers from various backgrounds and dance styles come together to leave everything on the dance floor.

From Amapiano to hip-hop, contemporary to Sibhujwa, each dancer brought their own distinct style and flair to the stage.

Red Bull Dance Your Style aims to celebrate this diversity and freedom of expression. Through the competition, dancers had the opportunity to showcase their individuality and connect with audiences on a deeper level.

The competition showcased the power and determination of each dancer, as well as their ability to captivate an audience with their performances.

Rushay “Xomylan” Prins was crowned the winner at the Red Bull Dance Your Style GQ regional competition.

Rushay "Xomylan" Prins was a perfect example of this as he was crowned the best in Gqeberha.

"I was worried about battling my friend in the final round, he is one of the best in Gqeberha but I was determined to make it all the way, I left everything on the dance floor,” said Prins.

When it comes to preparing for the national final, Prins said he will be "working hard to make sure I’m going to win the crowd and show my best moves. I’ll be training and watching new ways of expressing different dance styles at the National Final," he continued.

The event not only highlighted the physical demands of different dance styles but also explored the emotional and narrative aspects that resonate with the audience.

Red Bull Dance Your Style goes beyond just a dance competition, it is an immersive experience that celebrates the art and culture of dance.

Prins will be competing against other regional winners, including Mjebhane, Skinnyboi and Woken at the South African finals, taking place in Durban this September.

Upcoming Regional qualifiers dates:

Durban – 08 July

Cape Town - 15 July

Bloemfontein – 22 July

National Final – Durban 02 September
