From hospitality and office-based to enterprise development, the skills-training programmes highlighted FCD’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges of the South African job market.

In a remarkable display of triumph and community support the Fisantekraal Centre for Development (FCD) hosted a graduation ceremony that drew more than 400 people.

It was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of students, who completed one of 12 sponsored skills programmes.

The graduating students qualified across a diverse range of skills, with 277 certificates issued, reflecting FCD’s commitment to providing comprehensive opportunities for unemployed individuals from vulnerable communities.

From hospitality and office-based to enterprise development, the skills-training programmes highlighted FCD’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges of the South African job market.

A total of 12 outstanding students received Puma-donated sneakers and caps for their exceptional achievements, also winning the “Most Motivated to Succeed Award”.

The awards not only recognise academic accomplishment, but also emphasise the importance of motivation, dedication and perseverance despite many challenges faced.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration among staff, volunteers, partners and sponsors.

It has served to affirm the winning idea that it takes a village to enable a sustainable impact from NPOs like FCD.

The joy and delight with which students receive their certificates for many were truly inspiring to witness, providing the audience perhaps with a glimmer of hope during these otherwise uncertain times.

FCD’s commitment goes beyond the training room, particularly by supporting graduates with opportunities and mentorship that will enable them to become economically active to support their families.

Last year FCD’s work resulted in eight of 10 graduates becoming economically active.

The FCD graduation ceremony not only celebrated the accomplishments of its students, but also demonstrated the positive impact of collaboration among wholly committed partners.

FCD invites businesses and individuals to join hands ensuring sustainable impact to address the unemployment challenge, especially youth unemployment. To become involved or to know more, email info@fisantekraal.org.za, visit the website www.fisantekraal.org.za
