For the first time ever, Kariega locals can look forward to a day of jazz music from Dumza Maswana, and food, farm style at the Uitenhage Farms.

Well-known for the singular depth of his soothing baritone voice, Dumza Maswana fuses tradition, spirituality and jazz to create sonic experiences that uplift, inspire and heal. He writes and sings from a place of knowing, reflecting all that he has experienced and paying homage to his culture and the music that inspires him.

Maswana’s artistry has landed him on global stages, including those at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, where he was accompanied by the Mzansi Musical Ensemble, and they performed at Sing! Festival in Toronto, Canada. Locally, he has graced the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and Macufe Festival stages.

In his live performances, Dumza is known for taking the audience on a journey, inviting them to take part in his enchanting storytelling and soulful melodies. And now, the Kariega community can look forward to that and more.

It is quite exciting for me to have the opportunity, especially at this kind of set-up, which promises to be quite an experience. This weekend is going to be nice, chilled, laid back and intimate, I hope we all sing together.

“I’m looking forward to the food and mingling with the people, and of course the performance. Events like this must be supported, especially by the locals, young and old. So much is happening in Gqeberha, we have many different bands and it would really be great to have the same vibe in Kariega too. They drive to see me perform in Gqeberha, I hope they will come to this one,” he concluded.

General tickets cost R349.99, Double tickets cost R500, and Quad tickets (4) cost R800. For booking information, WhatsApp 084 833 8683 or send an email to pevslifestyle@gmail.com.
