They’ve survived some pretty tough times over the last two decades – far more than just COVID-19 and several severe droughts.

But through faith and hard work, Cape Gardens Nursery and Landscaping in Kariega did make it far enough to celebrate yet another milestone: it’s 20th birthday is tomorrow, March 31.

Currently a team of five, led by owners Yvonne and Vossie Vorster, is the drive behind Cape Gardens.

They first started out in Kruisrivier before moving to Cuyler Street 15 years ago where they can still be found today.

From garden benches, flower pots, waterfalls and locally made compost to succulents, herbs, vegetable seedlings and fruit trees, they pride themselves on going the extra mile to offer what their clients need, big or small.

And it’s a nursery right? So, of course there are flowers in abundance too! Among the many different kinds on offer, the roses are always a winner in winter and the orchids – several different varieties – are nearly ready to bloom.

They do landscaping as well. Several of their projects can be seen around the Kariega area.

In fact, if you can dream it and it has something to do with gardening or landscaping, don’t be afraid to ask if they can do it. If they can’t, they’ll probably learn, just for you.

According to Vossie, it is by the grace of God alone that they have made it this far. He says the key to success it to never give up.

They also thanked the local community for continuing to support them because without them, Cape Gardens would not be what it is today.

So, if you’re an avid gardener, looking for a landscape artist or interested in started your own vegetable garden, then they’ve got you covered.

And there’s no better time to see for yourself than right now. In celebration of Cape Gardens’ 20th birthday, they will have special offers on March 30 and 31, so make time to visit them at 13 Cuyler Street, Kariega. Alternatively, give them a call at 084 913 0608.
