Teenager shot in leg over phone by unknown man

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg by an unknown man demanding his phone in Kwanobuhle on Tuesday, May 7.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge said on Tuesday, May 7 at approximately 10:45 it is alleged that a 17-year-old boy in school uniform was at a shop in Khama Street, Kwanobuhle.

"A white VW Golf stopped close by, one male suspect got out and demanded the phone from the victim," said Beetge.

Beetge added that the boy (17) was then shot in his leg and the suspect drove off again.  

An attempted murder case was opened and being investigated by SAPS Kwanobuhle.
